Italy, Tuscany, second half of the sixteenth century Dalmatic facing with the coat of arms of the Taglieschi d'Anghiari family in embroidery almost entirely in gold and silver couchure, with polychrome silk for the flowers, leaves and details of the coat of arms, on a red satin background. The motifs and borders are edged with gold cordonnet. Height: 44 cm Width: 51 cm. Provenance : - former collection Salvatore Romano, Florence. - collection Josiane and Daniel Fruman. A 16th century Italian embroidered fabric panel bearing the coat of arms of the Taglieschi d'Anghiari family used to decorate a dalmatic tunic.
