Spain, 16th century The Litany of the Virgin embroidered panel, whose background is red velvet. The embroidery of the central image is in nude gold for the clothes and split stitch for the faces and limbs. The symbols of the litanies are also embroidered separately, some in relief, and applied. The border motifs are in gold thread, in simple couching and embossing. The field is sown with sequins. Height 48,5 Width 58,5 cm. Provenance : Josiane and Daniel Fruman collection.
