A black stone drawing attributed to Alessandro Allori inspired by The Last Judgment, a fresco by Michelangelo. After training at a very young age in Bronzino's workshop, Alessandro Allori left for Rome in 1554 to complete his training by studying Antiquity and Michelangelo. He stayed in Rome for six years and during his stay he made many copies, especially after Michelangelo. Our drawing is technically very close, in size and subject, to a set of drawings by Alessandro Allori kept in the Louvre Museum: Nude Man Leaning Forward (INV 819), Nude Man Leaning on His Hands (INV 803), Nude Man Hanging by One Hand (INV 830). All these copies, measuring the same size and cut to size, were executed after figures from Michelangelo's fresco of the Last Judgment, painted between 1536 and 1541.
