Rare clock representing Jason and the Golden Fleece, Empire period.
Richly chiseled and gilded bronze and patinated.
The dial rests in a tree trunk decorated with Diana and Mars.
The clock features a mythological representation inspired by the Argonauts' expedition "The conquest of the Golden Fleece".
Jason is represented triumphant on the Dragon at his feet and the Golden Fleece in his hand.
The whole resting on a quadrangular base in green marble of Campant, on four claw feet in chased and gilded bronze.

1st quarter of the XIX th century.
Similar model kept in the Malmaison Museum, in the apartments of Josephine de Beauharnais (under the reference N°MM40-47-470)
Another model is preserved in the Palacio Réal of Madrid, in the former room of King Joseph (Napoleon's elder brother).
