At the top of the page, a sentence in approximate Latin: "Oceano hoq et hiq (sic, for hoc et hic) vicissim !!!!" (the ocean alternately here and there?)
In front of the "mixed baths", Maupassant has represented his friend "Léon F." as well as "Louis F." and "Louis C." and a certain "Luc" doing the board.
