Autograph letter signed to a young lady, July 4 [1884]. 1 p. in-8. Engraved header "Never more". He informs her "In all haste, I gave yesterday your novel, not to Coppée, but to Coppée (...) on his work table, warning his sister. The ending I had planned is well done, but with the unbearably capricious and almost cruel character of this Marcelle, it seems to me much too sweet and too resigned to die (...)".
