dating: about 1870 provenance: Belgium, Cylindrical, rifled, 11 mm cal. barrels (clean bores, visible rifling) with remains of browning, provided with two different front sights. The nozzles with frame decorated with acanthus leaves. Six-shot cylinders with remains of browning, both featuring a band finely engraved with racemes, with a crowned 'L' marks and the marks of the Liege test bench. Working mechanisms, both in single and double action. Blued blocks at the base of the barrels, richly engraved with racemes and featuring a cartouche marked 'E. LEFAUCHEUX INV.R. BREVETE'. Gilded frames, engraved with racemes on a granular background (with slightly different motifs); gripstraps and butt-plates engraved en suite. Blued and engraved trigger guards. Black, smooth grip scales. Rings for the strap. Non-consecutive numbers. In a wooden case featuring a brass plate on the lid with the writing 'E. LEFAUCHEUX BREVETE - LIEGE'. Lined with green cloth and featuring two compartments provided with lids with bone handles. length 29,5 cm.
