DEVRIM ERBIL (Turkey, 1967). "Rhythmic Organisation", 1963. Oil on tablex. With label of the Biennale de Paris and the Grife y Escoda Gallery (Madrid), on the back. Signed and dated Measurements: 53 x 73 cm; 63 x 83 cm (frame). This piece reflects an aesthetic language in which various avant-garde movements and the translation of the history of art are expressed. From a new perspective in which aesthetic transgression at the hands of Devrim Erbil means the creation of an image with its own language and personality. Through the use of colour, the work offers the spectator a new vitalist aesthetic that merges with a precise geometric technique that extends over the surface of the support. In terms of composition, the artist has managed to create a completely harmonious image, highlighting the mastery of colour and technique, which achieves an expressive, vital and dynamic image that captures and creates a dialogue with the spectator. In this work we can appreciate the influence of Geometric Abstraction and Kineticism, typical of the European avant-garde, treated from a perspective where the elements, close to abstraction, are arranged through a stable and mobile character. The author achieves great movement, balance and harmony with lines on an inconcrete background, an heir to the avant-garde movements, but still representative of a personal style such as that of Devrim Erbil, who knew how to reinterpret everything he had been in contact with artistically during his training and create a decisive language. Devrim Erbil is an artist of Tuco origin, who began his artistic training at the Istanbul School of Fine Arts. As a student, he also worked in the studios of several artists living in the city, such as Rahmi Eyübo?lu, Cemal Tollu and Cevat Dereli. He had his first solo exhibition at the Turkish American Association, long before he studied Fine Arts, so that he already had a certain amount of exhibition experience during his studies. In 1963 he founded the well-known Mavi Grup, also known as the blue group. Throughout his career he has carried out numerous explosions, participating with his work in important artistic events such as the Venice and Paris biennials. He has also worked as a teacher and museum director.
