Description des festes données par la ville de Paris, à l'occasion du mariage de Madame Louise Elisabeth de France et de Dom Philippe, infant et grand amiral d'Espagne les vingt neuvième et trentième août mil sept cent trente-neuf. Paris, Le Mercier, 1740. In-plane, marbled calf, spine with ornate nerves, large lace framing the boards with fleurs-de-lis, arms of the city of Paris in the center of the boards. [1] 22 pp. Only edition of this beautiful festive book celebrating the marriage of Louise-Elisabeth of France and Philippe de Bourbon, second son of Philippe V of Spain, on August 26, 1739. The festivities took place on August 29 and 30 on the artificial island built by the Italian architect Servandoni, in front of the Louvre between the Pont-Neuf and the Pont Royal, in front of the Collège Mazarin and the Hôtel de Ville. The illustration includes a vignette by Bouchardon on the title, a large header vignette depicting La Joute de la Seine engraved by Rigaud and 13 plates and plans, 8 of which are double-page, engraved by Blondel after Bonel, Gabriel, Sallet and Servandoni.
