- HARRIS (Jacques) Hermès, ou Recherches philosophiques sur la Grammaire universelle, work translated from English, by Jacques Harris, by François Thurot. Paris, de l'Imprimerie de la république messidor, an IV (1796); in 8°, red morocco, very ornate spine, triple gilt fillet on the boards, inner lace, gilt edges. Fine binding of the period. Rare ORIGINAL EDITION of this famous and sought-after work, in which the author develops the theory of the universality of language and thus of human reasoning.
