Zani, in "Enciclopedia Metodica", describes him as a painter of views and seascapes, Milanese, active in 1775. Probably trained in Naples in the circle of Antonio Joli, he had contacts with the English painter Wright of Derby, who influenced his painting in a romantic sense.
