DRC/Songe. Important "Kifwebe" mask for men, carved in polychrome wood. Spectacular work of quality with its original polychromy. 1st half of the 20th century. H 65 X 45 X 25 cm base included.
This work is to be compared with another mask quite similar belonging to the Stewart J. Warkow collection exhibited at the "QCC art gallery" in New-York. It is illustrated (p. 40) in the book "Beauty and the beast" by Marc Leo Felix, published for the exhibition of the collection in 2003.
