First edition, illustrated with a frontispiece engraved by F. Rops, and 7 vignettes, etched on chine appliqué, one by G. Courbet and 6 by Flameng. Divided into 44 chapters, the work is a ballad through La Rotonde, Minerve, Lamblin, Desmares, Racine..., where one meets illustrious writers or artists.
Some foxing. Spine slightly faded and rubbed.
