CHESNON (C.-G.). Notice sur la glacière des provinces ou Appareil pour faire instantanément de la glace pour les cas de maladie, ou des sorbets, glaces, frapper de l'eau, du vin, etc. Évreux, A. Hérissey, 1849. In-8 of 16 pp, paperback, cover decorated with 4 figures representing the icebox.
Extremely rare explanatory booklet of the patent of "the ice-house of the provinces", published on the occasion of the general exhibition of 1849. Invented for the cities of provinces until then deprived of natural or artificial iceboxes, this device uses "for the needs of a patient or private uses", a new system which has "the advantage of using only successively the ice obtained, or to make only a certain quantity at a time".
Tired binding, corners corroded.
