August Gaul Stehender Schwan, Futtersuchender Schwan (Kopf vorgestreckt) 1905 Bronze. Height 15.8 cm. Signed 'A. GAUL' back right on cast plinth and with foundry mark 'H. NOACK BERLIN FRIEDENAU' verso on plinth. Possibly an early cast or one approved by the estate in 1921 in an edition of 20, but not fully cast. - Anthracite-coloured patina, partly brightly rubbed. Inconspicuous dark traces of colour on wings; the tip of beak under support point unpatinated.
