Bracelet of the beginning of the XIXth century... Lot 4

Bracelet of the beginning of the XIXth century in yellow gold 18k (750 thousandths) presenting a cameo in shell probably of the end of the XVIIIth century set on gold leaf skilfully chiseled (very light enfoncements). The bracelet consists of sixteen chains linking the clasp to the gold leaf. The cameo, which still has the simplicity of the thick features typical of the 17th and 18th centuries, seems to represent the creation of man by Prometheus in the presence of Athena, as recalled by the Italian marble bas-relief kept in the Louvre Museum dating from the 3rd century AD.
