Epur 21 Mixed media on canvas 100 x 100 cm Signed on the back Abderrahmane OUARDANE, born in 1947 in Morocco, lives in Casablanca and works between Morocco and France. His friendships with the students of the effervescent academy of Fine Arts "the School of Casablanca" which brings together the trans-Mediterranean modernists, have allowed him to sharpen creative experiences always in a spirit of renewal. During the 1970s, at the Ateliers des Beaux-Arts THUR in Paris, Abderrahmane OUARDANE learned to draw the human body. He devoted his first exhibitions to the theme of the nude. At the turn of the 80s, back in Morocco, his spiritual retreats in the High Atlas Amazigh, represent a decisive step in the evolution of his work. He evolves towards abstract lines. His art draws its source in the immaterial heritage in a context of mutations between historical past and present or futuristic reality, oscillating according to the consistency of the energies which cross it, that they are social, political, poetic.
