Morocco, dated 1293H. (=1875-6)
Pair of silver and silver-gilt peg rings. In two parts, they are hinged and closed by a pin held by a chain. Each part widens strongly at 7 cm from the hinge, forming a decreasing curve until the opening.
On a silver plate are riveted gilded silver plates with openwork patterns on a red background and forming interlacing decorated with blue and green enamels; four cabochons, hollow half-spheres with a gadrooned face, are fixed by polygonal head rivets. Two rings welded on the edge receive the chains which, joined at their end by a circular ring, hold the pin.

Of typical circular form with silver flat band, exterior with alternating silver-gilt openwork enamelled panels on red background, interior with makers' stamp, chain attaching pin to center of lobed panel.
This accessory is worn over the khalkhal (open ankle ring)
