REICHARD, August Ottokar (founder). Booklets of Reading. Third volume. Gotha: Bureau des Cahiers de Lecture, 1784. Monthly journal established in 1784: Cahiers no. IX, X, XI and XII; pages [iii] - 390p. (continuous pagination); portrait of Pilâtre de Rozier by Goulet in frontispiece. Each quire has a first part entitled "Manuscripts" and a part "Fragmens ou extraits de livres". The pagination jumps from 190 to 193 without missing. Bound in full red morocco, spine ribbed and decorated with balloons, framed with cold fillets on the boards, marbled endpapers, inner lace; each book includes an upper cover and a preliminary leaf printed on blue paper. A nice copy. Several articles in this review concern balloons: "Le Cheval aérostatique"; "Notice de tous les voyages aériens, faits jusqu'à la fin du septembre 1784"; "Vers à MM. Romain et Pilatre de Rozier, au sujet du superbe aérostat que l'on va porter de Paris à Calais".
