Rare frise aux fleurons Lot n° 3

Syria, Raqqa, Ayyubid art, 13th century Long siliceous ceramic frieze with molded decoration covered with turquoise monochrome glaze, decorated with three tri-lobed fleurons in palmettes. Condition: several restored fractures, repaints and iridescence. H. : 17,5 cm ; W. : 60 cm ; D : 4,5 cm There are very few tiles from the Ayyubid period and this frieze with fleurons is a rare example. The three-lobed fleuron motif is found on some dishes from Tell Minis in Syria, whether they are monochrome, incised or lustre decorated.
