Our portrait has been restored both in terms of the paper and the drawing. The missing paper has been filled in several places, in the left corner, and the child's foot. Two tears on the bottom edge towards the center have been restored. While Ingres can be seen in a number of details such as the hand holding the child's foot, the treatment of the folds or the fall of the fabric to the right of the armchair, as well as in the very fine rendering of the earring, some parts were redrawn during the restoration. The head of the child, the face of the woman, especially the eyes, and the hair.
