Stein, Karl Freiherr vom und zum. Handwritten letter with signature in French. No place (probably Paris), 29.04.(18)14. 1 p. across on a double sheet, address with postmark and small ring seal on the reverse. 13 x 20 cm. In profile frame glazed on both sides. To "L'amiral Kinckel a l'hotel des Ambassadeurs" in Paris, probably the German-Dutch naval officer and diplomat Heinrich August von Kinckel (1747-1821). "Je sors rarement avant 11. heures, et suis par consequence toujours pret a parler aux personnes qui veulent me honorer de leur presence et me parler d'affaires". - Rare French letter from the Imperial Baron, the signature without the initials typical of German letters. A comparative example can be seen in the Landesbibliothekszentrum Koblenz (French letter accompanying a German manuscript, 12.02.1816). - Traces of folding, respect sheet with small tear due to opening of the seal, slightly browned and stained.
