Festooned choker, last quarter of 1800s, example of Garland Style in silver and gold, diamonds i rosettes and 9 cushion-cut and 1 drop-cut natural aquamarines totaling 195 ct. The workmanship, presumably of French origin, testifies to the 19th-century recontextualization of earlier Marie Antoinette jewelry in which ribboned bows and plant festoons unfold in a gag structure.
