Correspondence of Auguste BORGET (1808-1877)
Set of 17 letters addressed by the artist to his mother and his brother living in Issoudun.
He evokes in particular the establishment of his studio at 38, rue Blanche in Paris, his need for financing, his private and public orders (manufacture of Sevres, Ministries of the Interior, Public Instruction and the Navy), the reception of one of his paintings for exhibition at the Salon of 1843, his projects of publications and editions, the preparation of several exhibitions of works, or still a maritime crossing on an American liner.
