EPERGNE OR SILVER CENTERPIECE The central part rests on four feet and is extended symmetrically by S-shaped leafy arms, each carrying four round baskets and slightly above four other oval baskets with a large central basket. This set of nine baskets of an identical openwork decoration composed of bands supported by stirrups decorated with garlands and medallions engraved with a monogram ACM or a Crest accompanied by the motto "NIL DESPERAN-DUM". London 1776-1777 Master silversmith Thomas Pitts. Weight 3434 g 42,5 x 54 cm The epergne made it possible to arrange fruits, flowers or in the center of a table at the disposal of the guests.
