The divine couple is represented under an archway, standing on a common lotus blossoming on a pedestal. Each has one of his hands resting on the other's back. He wields a trident and a snake and she holds a lotus fleur. Nandi the vehicle of Shiva is depicted on the base of the pedestal at their feet. Two attendant female deities are depicted at the foot of the torana columns. Atop these columns, at the base of the arches, it is possible to identifier the two children of the divine couple, Ganesha and Skanda.
The general style of this sculpture is characteristic of the production of the ancient Western Chalukya kingdom that ruled the Karnataka plateau and Andhra Pradesh between the finds of the 10th and 12th centuries.
The cleaned surface bears the stigmata of a very old oxidation.
