An Islamic mortar
Of polygonal section with slightly protruding base and rim. With a central band of moulding engraved with a braided motif and a small ring shaped handle. Decorated with calligraphic engravings, lotus flowers, medallions and animal motifs. The base slightly concave due to usage. H 11.6, D 15.4 cm, weight c. 2.5 kg.
