When José Avillez took over Belcanto in 2012, he opened a new chapter in the history of this award-winning restaurant, which has been located in the romantic Chiado district since 1958. His complete renovation did not disappoint. In a sober and sophisticated decor, the restaurant offers an exclusive experience to all guests. Diverse and creative, the cuisine revisits Portuguese gastronomy in a permanent research, working as much on flavors as on textures. The giant red shrimp is confronted with rosemary ashes, the oxtail is married to foie gras and chickpeas, according to the seasons and the inspiration.
