EGYPT, Rare marble head most probably representing the portrait of a pharaoh of the Lagid dynasty, PTOLEMEE III who reigned between 246 and 222 B.C. Ptolemaic period, 2nd half of the 3rd century BC. This head is to be compared with a marble head in the Louvre, ref MA 4164. Provenance : former French collection by inheritance around 1960.
