Antonio LUCARDA (1904-1993). Bronze bust representing the Prince and virtuoso pianist Georges Chavchavadze (1904-1962) second husband of the Countess Elizabeth le Tonnelier de Breteuil born Ridgway (grandmother of Jacques Peltzer). We add a beautiful period photograph representing the Prince at the piano. Madame Elizabeth de Breteuil who became Princess Chavchavadze and her husband represented here in the early 1940s died tragically in a car accident in Burgundy in 1962, they were exhumed in the Ridgway vault in the Passy cemetery. Provenance: Prince and Princess Chavchavadze (Palais Polignac Venice?), Countess of Hélène de Breteuil, Jacques Peltzer family collection. Antonio Lucarda, painter and sculptor active in Italy in the middle of the 20th century and particularly in Venice, was one of Princess Chavchavadze's relations.
