ROBOT dedicated to Lene Lovich
In the context of the reformation of Lene Lovich's band and following a series of concerts in England and Germany, Lydia Fischer, then bassist of the band, accompanies Lene Lovich to the flea market of her native town. Seduced by the visual aspect of a robot, Lydia bought this "new toy". Surprise after the purchase: Lene Lovich has the same model at home. Back in London, the artist decides to offer her robot to Lydia Fischer, as a gift at the end of her tour. She then signed "New Toy", an indirect tribute to Lydia since it was her favorite piece.
In the scope of Lene Lovich's band's reunion and after the series of concerts in the UK and in Germany, Lydia Fisher, the band's bass-player at the time, accompanied Lene Lovich to her home town's flea market. Seduced by the visual aspect of a robot, Lydia bought this "new toy". After the purchase, the surprise: Lene Lovich owned the same model. Back in London, the artist decided to therefore give her robot to Lydia Fischer as an end-of-tour present. She then released New Toy, an indirect homage to Lydia since it was her favourite song.
