Creator of jewels, pupil of the goldsmith François Hugo, he is interested very quickly in the techniques of enamel. At the beginning of the 50's, he creates jewels for the Haute Couture, Dior in particular, then he opens in 1958, close to his workshop, a gallery on rue Jacob. His first clients were Simone de Beauvoir, Max Ernst and Sonia Delaunay. In the 1970s, he broadened his horizons, working with stained glass, enameled steel, mirrors, and sculpting glass, while continuing to create jewelry, private commissions and Haute Couture collections (Nina Ricci in the 1990s). A retrospective of his work, "Bijoux-Lumière" was dedicated to him at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1999.
