Jewelry designer, student of the goldsmith François Hugo, he quickly became interested in enamel techniques. In the early 1950s, he created jewelry for the Haute Couture, Dior in particular, then in 1958 he opened a gallery on rue Jacob, near his workshop. His first clients were Simone de Beauvoir, Max Ernst and Sonia Delaunay. In the 1970s, he broadened his horizons, working with stained glass, enameled steel, mirrors, and sculpting glass, while continuing to create jewelry, private commissions and Haute Couture collections (Nina Ricci in the 1990s). A retrospective of his work, "Bijoux-Lumière" was dedicated to him at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1999.
