BERRY Charles-Ferdinand, duke of [Versailles, 1778 - Paris, 1820], second son of Charles X. Autograph letter signed "Charles Ferdinand", addressed to his mother. Lokatche November 26, 1795; 1 1/2 page in-4°. At that time he was serving in the army of Condé. "My very dear mom, I learned by my brother that you remain in Inspruck [French name of Innsbruck] and that made me very sad; but I hope well that you will not remain there for a long time, if the war declares itself you would be absolutely in the front posts, it seems very sure that in March, we put ourselves on the march to return on the Rhine, and I hope that we will not go further: I have been for a few weeks at my regiment, this is the chief place, because the cantonments are very extensive, we expect our horses in two weeks, there will be a thousand for my regiment and 500 for Enghien, which will give us a lot to do during the whole winter. I hope that we do not leave to go to Millau in the time of a wedding of my brother ".
