MARIE-JOSÈPHE de SAXE (1731-1767) Dauphine of France, mother of three Kings (Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X). L.A., [March 1760], to a lady; half page small in-4.
She thanks her correspondent for her new mark of friendship, which touches her very much: "if you will do me the pleasure of coming to see me, it will be a relief to the very natural anxiety in which I am for my son"... She apologizes for interrupting this letter so abruptly, but "I have just been warned to go to the King's house"... This is probably Louis-Joseph-Xavier duke of Burgundy, older brother of Louis XVI, who died in 1761 of tuberculosis of the bone at the age of 9.]
