Fragment of a frieze tile in siliceous ceramic with blue, red, green and turquoise blue decoration of a radiating palmette. 16th century, circa 1570-80. 12.5 cm x 9 cm.
Provenance : former collection Pierre Pitavy (1932-2012)
A frieze of five tiles of the same decoration is kept in the Calouste Gulbenkain Museum in Lisbon and reproduced in the catalog Iznik Pottery, Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon, 1982, n° 115.
