Jean-Pierre GRAS (1879-1964). Project of a statue in plaster, signed and dated 1911. General Lafayette in full length, in late eighteenth century revolutionary dress; he is represented in general's dress, frock coat with a cape holding his saber with his left hand. It is placed on a rectangular green marble base.
H : 75 cm (without the base)
Jean-Pierre Gras, born on April 27, 1879 in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, son of the capoulié of the Félibrige Félix Gras, and died on February 25, 1964 in Avignon, is a sculptor, a ceramist and a painter.
The original sculpture appears in one of the niches of the historical figures of the Louvre Palace, Pavilion or wing of Rohan.
