Handle covered with stingray with filigree. Chased gilt brass mounting, pommel monogrammed "AF" under count's crown, three-pronged guard and two cut-out auricles. Straight blade with flat back engraved "Mre d'armes de Chatt 1889 Off de cavale Mle 1882. Between A. Treuille", engraved "DUM LUCTOR SPERO" and "6 août 1889".
