DJUMBURPUR TOM ( Wudamin). Circa 1920 -2006 Sacred Stones, 1995 Tom Djumburpur was a veteran bark painter from Arnhem Land. Born in the 1920s, he died at over 80 years of age. His paintings use pure white and dried blood red for compositions reminiscent of ritual body paintings where stripes evoke authority. The shield-shaped bark is his trademark. The bark bears the artist's name on the back and the reference RAM BP1885 and aug 95.
