This group is comparable with the one seen, in front of a tent, in the Réjouissance de soldats (Paris, musée du Louvre, inv. 7137) which constitutes the reception piece at the Academy of PATER in December 1728 (cf. Ingersoll-Smouse, Pater, Paris, 1921, cat. 397, pl. 108).
