MADONNA WITH JESUS CHILD AND CHURCH Oil on wood. 40 x 28,5 cm. In partially gilded frame. In an interior room in front of brown wall, standing behind a gray stone balustrade, the Madonna with dark blue robe and bright red cloak, which also covers her head with long golden blond hair. She holds the naked boy Jesus with her delicate right hand on a cloth, which in turn lies on a gold-colored cushion with embroidery and tassels on the parapet. With her left hand she just wants to reach her right breast to the boy Jesus, a motif of "Maria lactans" typical in the history of art. At the side of the cushion several red cherries can be seen. She looks lovingly at Jesus, who looks back at her with his arm stretched out to the right. Harmonious sensitive painting with strong chiaroscuro accentuation. Comparable depictions can be found in the works of Joos van Cleeve (c. 1485 - c. 1540) as well as in the work of Jan Goessaert (c. 1478 - 1532). Rest, retouching.
