Attribution to named artist by previous ownership and technical examination report. Vertical panel in which the standing figure of the saint largely fills the picture surface, in accordance with the presentation in lateral wings of this period. The background in the upper part laid out as a gold ground, below angular stone forms can be seen. Over a shirt of light fur, the saint wears a light purple lined cloak, held together by a cord at chest level. The hem of the robe shows pseudo-Hebrew letters. The right hand holds a rotulus with the usual inscription "Ecce agnus dei", the index finger points to a white lamb held by the left arm, but largely rubbed off. The nimbus worked into the gold background shows circular rows of punctured dots and rays. The facial expression suggests a later stylistic stage than we know from the major works of the well-known Fra Angelico. Restored with condition report: Roberta Lapucci.
