LAFOND Charles Nicolas Raphaël Paris 1774 -1835 Portrait of a general wearing the Legion of Honor Original oil on canvas. On the reverse, a small reinforcement piece in the upper left corner. Signed lower left and dated 1822. On the frame, a graphite annotation Mr de La Ch (...) H. 55 - L. 46,2 cm 19th century frame in wood and gilded stucco with palmettes. The National Museum of the Château of Versailles keeps two historical compositions by Charles Lafond, Napoleon I grants to mademoiselle de Saint - Simon the grace of her father (Salon of 1810) and The duchess of Berry presents the duke of Bordeaux to the people and the army, September 1820 (Salon of 1822) (Cf.
