Sumptuous lace and embroidered ceremonial tablecloth, Italy, 1st half of the 20th century.
In linen type Baptist, embroidered with an elegant well-balanced decoration of flowers and foliage springing, vases, rivers and motifs in fleurons decorated with stitches and bridles to the needle structuring the composition of this tablecloth around superb cartridges chantournés realized in lace of Venice to the needle with decoration of cups flowered, of flexible branches of foliage and flowers, fans with cherubs supporting a basin on a ribbon knotted, some of the reasons reworked in relief in the spirit of the Italian Snow Point of the late seventeenth century, the reasons connected by a network of large stitches picotées. Framed entirely in Venetian needle lace decorated with large flowers in full bloom and branches embroidered in the same way.
