First publication of Malevich's Suprematist masterpiece "Black Square on a White Background"
Although described on the title page as the third edition, the second was never printed, this is the first illustrated edition, (the work had been published a month earlier without illustrations), featuring the printing of the 'Initial Quadrangle', later called 'Black Square', a typographical reproduction of the painting presented at the 0.10 Petrograd exhibition.
Illustrated with three reproductions of Malevich's works including the square on the cover.
Some stains on the cover and foxing, inscription.
