Pastoral, China, circa 1740-1750 Rare and large folded fan, the double sheet of paper painted with a country landscape animated by mountains and groves. Shepherds and shepherdesses are enjoying themselves among their sheep. Revers painted on an iridescent background of three musicians in front of a group of houses. Fine ivory mount* cut and engraved, on both sides, with flowers and small views of gardens. The plumes carved with pagodas among flowers. H.t. 33,5 cm-H.f. 17,5 cm (stains, wear, small lacks, cuts, restorations)
