REGULATOR Regency period Violet wood, oak; gilt bronze and glass Presented in its old state; accidents; missing and raised veneer H. 226 cm, W. 68 cm, D. 36 This majestic regulator of violin form is a concentrate of mastery both from the point of view of its decoration and its overall execution. It includes a rich ornamentation in chased and gilded bronze such as stylized falls and sabots in the shape of dolphins, dragons, a mask of leafy fauna, an eagle clutching a sphere and a mask of laughing monkey. A beautiful marquetry of violet wood in frieze of chevrons and rosettes in reserves dresses the frame. Movement and balance of time, to be repaired.
