It is probably Mary Stuart (Queen of Scotland, then Queen of France from 14/12/1542 to 24/07/1567, (born on 8/12/1542 and died on 08/02/1587).
Tapestry belonging to the series of "Illustrious Women", by Isaac MOILLON (1614-1673), painter of the king in Aubusson and inspired by Guy François (1578-1650).
This tapestry, puts in scene Mary Stuart, richly dressed, conversing with what seems to be a doctor (archiatrist) carrying a vial of remedy, and this, in front of an areopagus of advisers concerting. The assembly includes two helmeted and armed soldiers, an oriental with a turban and four "senators" in togas. All takes place in the shelter of a powerful wall, in the courtyard of a fortress, in the shade of hangings.
Beautiful border with flower basins and fruit bowls surrounded by bundles of foliage.
