AN ORNAMENTAL BRASS BOX / CASKET / DOCUMENT HOLDER, possibly 17th Century Spanish, with a swing handle to the top, a hinged lid opens from the front lock plate to reveal a double compartment within, a note to the interior reads ‘from Maurice Harris…7, Royal Arcade, Old Bond St. London W.1. Bought 18th July 1946. An Ornamental Brass box with plainly designed hinges and locks, with original key. 17th Cent. Spanish’. The key is no longer present. The box measures 23 x 10 x 8cm (L x D x H – not including handle).
