Second edition of Stéphane Mallarmé's prose translation, illustrated with nine reproductions of drawings by Édouard Manet, including a portrait of Poe in the frontispiece, seven figures out of the text and the cover vignette representing the crow of the poem. Seven of these compositions had already appeared in 1875 and 1888, but those of "Annabel Lee" and "La Cité en la mer" are unpublished. In addition to this illustration is a full-page woodcut depicting Edgar Poe's tomb.
